Available 2FA methods in Boardeaser
In Boardeaser, you can secure your account using the following methods:
- BankID: Quick and secure login using mobile or file-based Swedish BankID.
- Verification code via email: A six-digit code sent to your registered email address every time you log in.
- Recovery codes: One-time backup codes used if you lose access to your email address.
BankID
Log in quickly and securely with BankID. You can connect BankID directly to your profile account.
Learn how to enable and manage BankID in our guide on BankID as a login method – Enable, disable, and troubleshooting.
Verification code via email
When email verification is active, a six-digit one-time code is sent to your email address every time you log in using your password.
Please note:
- If you log in via BankID, you do not need to enter an email code.
- Two-factor authentication via email cannot be disabled once enabled on the account.
How to enable verification code via email:
- Log in to Boardeaser, click your name in the top right corner, and select My Profile.
- Click Security in the left menu.
- Click Activate next to the email verification / recovery code setting.
- Click Create codes. A verification code will be sent to your email address – enter it in the field provided.
- Your recovery codes will be generated. Save or print these codes in a secure place, then click Continue.
- Enter the final verification code sent to your email and click Activate.
Setup is complete! For future logins, enter the code sent to your email. If you do not receive a code, you can request a new one after 120 seconds.
Recovery codes
Recovery codes serve as backup single-use passcodes if you ever lose access to your primary email address.
How to view or generate recovery codes:
- Go to My Profile > Security.
- Scroll down to Recovery codes and click Manage.
- Enter your password to verify your account (if logged in via BankID, you proceed automatically).
- Save or print the codes. Used codes are automatically removed, and you can generate new ones by clicking Create codes.
How to use a recovery code at login:
- On the login screen where the email verification code is requested, click Use a recovery code.
- Enter one of your saved recovery codes and click Verify.
Note that each recovery code can only be used once.
Set 2FA requirement for the organization
As an administrator, you can mandate that all invited users authenticate using 2FA or BankID before accessing organization data.
Important: At least one member of the organization must have enabled two-factor authentication on their user account before this requirement can be turned on.
- Go to Administration > Settings in the left menu.
- Click Advanced settings.
- Check the option Require two-factor authentication and click Save.
