This section provides an introduction to accessing data sources and values within each component. Components can be a report table, a graph or a widget. Inside these components, you add a row or a data source, for a report table and a graph/widget, respectively, to visualise your accounting data or other data.
Formulas and data sources can be added in three different ways, Key Figures, Accounts and Advanced. These different ways of adding rows or data sources can be combined in your component. That is, on one row you can add Key Figures and on another row Accounts.
Key Figures
For key figures, you can either choose from all the KPIs or variables you have created or from all the predefined key figures available in the system. For example, Net Revenue, Cash & Bank, or Equity Ratio in %. When you select a key figure, you can search for it or scroll to find it.
The difference between a variable and a KPI is that KPIs are data sources not included in accounting. It is a data source you can name and enter your own data into. Examples of KPIs include the number of employees, units produced, and the number of customers. A variable is a predefined formula that usually contains advanced calculations using accounting accounts. The variable can also include KPIs.
Advanced
- Revenue per employee
- Cost per item sold
- Profit margin / Gross margin
